Nowadays children from 3 to 10 years old spend around 3 hours per day in front of screens. Screens have definitely overrun our homes since fifteen years. What do you think about this new behavior?
Firstly, it is proven that that screens alter concentration, which is felt at school. A study published in the journal “Journal of Family Therapy Américan” shows that the more time children spend in front of screens, more their grades decrease.The screens also pushing for intellectual laziness.
Indeed, television immerses young children in passivity. They do not develop their imagination and their ability to resonate to try to find a solution to a problem.Nevertheless, interactive screens (especially tablets) would help kids in the development of their senses. It would allow the child to acquire a way of thinking more fluid, faster and to diversify sources of stimulation.
Finally, opinions are extremely shared about this subject. It is clear that regular exposure to children under 3 years is detrimental to their development.But if the exposure to screens is under control and measured by parents and your French speaking nannies this can be totally a plus for older children
