FULL-TIME LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER (Spanish, Portuguese, or English speaking) – Cotswolds (near Moreton in Marsh), Gloucestershire

  •  Family of 4 (parents and two children (boy 2 years old and girl 10 years old) + two dogs (one Cocker spaniel and Goldendoodle)
  • Location: Cotswolds (near Moreton in Marsh), Gloucestershire
  • Start date: September.

  • Working days and hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (50-60hours/week)
  • Mornings through lunch time, take an afternoon break and return to work late afternoon through to the evening meal.
  • Ultimately the parents would like between 10-12 hours a day but there is flexibility on how these hours are worked.
  • Salary: £40-£45k gross/year.

  • The family are looking for a confident driver. A car is provided
  • Language requirements: Good level of English required. Knowledge of Spanish (or Portuguese) is a plus.
  • The family lives in a 120-acre country estate in the Cotswolds near Moreton-in-Marsh are looking for a long-term live-in housekeeper to join their family home
    The family have another live-in housekeeper (Spanish speaking) that works Monday to Friday so this role is to overlap / work as a team with her on Thursdays, Fridays and Mondays.

All the duties described here are currently performed by their existing housekeeper, so it is of utmost importance that the new hire is a team player and shares the same positive attitude and attention to detail as the other lady. They have two friendly dogs so you should be pet friendly.

The property to look after is a Manor house currently under renovation (completion date is October). This Manor house is a beautiful 6 bedroom property (principal bedroom, a bedroom for each child and 3 guest bedrooms) plus a 2 bedroom staff apartment in the East wing of the house (each with their ensuite bathroom).  While the property is renovated the family is living in another 4 bedroom house in the estate and their nanny and housekeeper are living in a 3 bedroom cottage. For the first month or two of employment, the new housekeeper will share the temporary accommodation with the other housekeeper until the Manor House is finished.

 

Duties

– Full housekeeping duties and but also willing to help out with the children when required.
– You should be confident to cook family style meals.
– You should be pet friendly.
– You should be confident with all aspects of housekeeping and be able to work alongside the other housekeeper as a team in order to care for the home to a high standard, with great attention to detail.

– You should be skilled with cleaning and have a very good eye for detail.  The family-run an informal household, however, the parents expect a professional attitude, and someone willing to look for the details in the work and finish.  The parents want to rely on their housekeepers to manage the household and make sure it is cared for to a high standard.

– You and the other housekeeper will be responsible for the daily and deep cleaning of the household and ensure it is always tidy and presentable. Making beds, cleaning bathrooms, organising and cleaning the kitchen, and generally keeping all areas of the house clean and organised.

– You would be happy to prepare a simple breakfast, lunch & dinner (family style). This will be done in coordination with the other lady.

– You should be happy to help with the children in the mornings and evenings, and this role requires a good degree of flexibility.  They want someone trustworthy, loyal and warm with the children.

– You should be happy to run errands such as trips to the post office, dry cleaner, and the supermarket. You should be generally willing to muck into family life. If you are open to travelling with the family they would sometimes ask you to come with them but if you prefer not to travel with the family this is also fine.

– They are keen to find someone with a great attitude, who can work as a team with their Spanish speaking housekeeper and wanting to stay in a long-term role, to give the family the flexibility and care required.

A down-to-earth family, they enjoy looking after the staff who work for them.
